The Food We Ate

My last post talked about how I spent my 30th in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. This post is all about the sumptuous food we ate. My girlfriends and I are big foodies, especially on vacations, because vacation!

We went to a couple of real neat cafes and restaurants. Here’s a down low of what we ate at one of the cafes on Mall Road, it was absolutely great!

Cafe Simla Times at Hotel Willow Banks on the Mall Road, is a beautiful patio-cum-deck with an overall view of the city. The cool wind gushes through and transports you to a serene place. Talking of the music? They played old school romantic and pop, on the lines of Ronan Keating. That’s probably when I missed the Mr. most of all.

Star of our lunch was this wood fired Farm fresh pizza, veggie option for all the vegetarians.

My sister and I are crazy for pan-asian cuisine. She ordered this delicious Schezwan Chicken with garlic fried rice. Awesomesauce!

There was Chicken Fajitas too, speaking of, this quaint little cafe had almost all the famous cuisines. I missed the guacamole with the fajitas though, but its not an avocado season here in India. So that was okay!

Tiramisu to die for! We were so full after the hearty lunch, but we had to have dessert and coffee for sure 🙂 And we do not regret the decision, because this Tiramisu was by far the yummiest I’ve had in a long time.

Here’s some of the pictures of the cafe. Loved the interiors, they have all the landmark places of Shimla painted in a trail on the walls and the roof. Right from Viceregal Lodge to the Skating rink to Jakhoo temple, it’s all there in a form of a graffiti. Quite a delight for someone who appreciates art.

This place serves alcohol too! And what’s better than beer under the sun 🙂

Wearing my husband’s Nike T-shirt, Forever 21 jeggings, Aeropostale numbered glasses & Budweiser 🙂
